Film de, filmin esinlendiği Dante’nin İlahi Komedyası da bana ister istemez Orpheus’un eşi Eurydice için Hades’e inişini anımsatır (ki Dante’nin Inferno’da gördüğü gölgelerden biri de Orpheus’tur).
